Hong Kong Ends Hotel Quarantine for Arrivals After 2 Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The Hong Kong government announced on the 23rd that it will abolish the hotel quarantine policy for incoming travelers.

John Lee, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, stated this at a press conference and announced that the new regulation will take effect from the 26th.

Incoming travelers will be subject to health monitoring for three days instead of hotel quarantine. Attending school and going to work will also be allowed.

Hong Kong had locked its borders and mandated hotel quarantine for up to 21 days for incoming travelers immediately after the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020.
