Yamaha Golf announced that it will launch the ‘Yamaha DriveStar’ club in October, responsible for delivering cool driver long shots. The Yamaha DriveStar is the successor to Yamaha Golf’s beloved ‘UD+2’ series, which was released in 2014. It aims to target the premium market for both male and female golfers.
The Yamaha DriveStar line satisfies the desires of countless golfers for long shots and distance. It features a boost box inside the driver head, which increases rigidity upon impact and suppresses energy loss, maximizing distance.
Another notable feature is the ‘3 Counter Weight System.’ Three weights are placed on the toe, heel, and back inner weight, resulting in a moment of inertia (MOI) value of 5,500 g·cm². This is a 10% increase compared to the previous UD+2 model, enabling maximum distance with stable direction.
The Yamaha DriveStar irons are equipped with tungsten at the bottom of the cavity. This completes an ‘ultra-low center of gravity design,’ achieving more stable distance than the UD+2. Additionally, a rib is placed behind the face to align both the impact point and center of gravity precisely in the center. The rebound force and initial ball speed are improved, fulfilling the requirements of a distance iron.
The design was not overlooked either. The men’s driver features black and silver colors with blue accents to add a touch of luxury, while the women’s driver combines white and silver with blue accents to capture both elegance and beauty. The iron backplate is silver with fine water droplet engravings, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
