Geochang Grand Festival 'Let's Go Together! Check-in Geochang!' Opens

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hold the 2022 Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival as an in-person event for the first time in three years under the slogan "Let's Go Together! Check-in Geochang!" The festival will take place for four days from the 29th to October 2nd at Geochang Sports Park and around Geochang-eup.

The 2022 Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival will feature a variety of attractions, food, and entertainment, including a street parade to kick off the event, an opening ceremony and Citizens' Day commemorative ceremony, the 50th Arim Arts Festival, the Green Storehouse Geochang Agricultural Products Grand Festival, the 14th Lifelong Learning Festival, the 77th Citizens' Sports Competition, the National Geochang Hometown Association Sports Competition, the 2022 Multicultural Family Festival, and the 2nd Bicycle Tour Changpowon Picnic event.

On the first day, the street parade marking the start of the festival will begin at the county office rotary and proceed to Daedong rotary with various performances along the way. At 7 p.m., the opening ceremony of the Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival and the Citizens' Day commemorative ceremony will be held on the main stage at Sports Park, featuring pre-ceremony performances by local art groups and invited singers such as Nataju and Woo Yeon-i, followed by a spectacular fireworks show to announce the opening.

On the final day of the festival, the 2nd Bicycle Tour Changpowon Picnic event will start from Sports Park and follow the route to Changpowon for a bicycle tour. Side events such as BMX performances and prize giveaways will be held, along with the multicultural family festival.

The closing ceremony, which marks the end of the festival, will be held on October 2nd at 7:30 p.m. on the main stage at Sports Park, in conjunction with the LG Hello Concert Good Day special public broadcast. Singers including Park Gun, Kang Hye-yeon, Geum Jandi, Seo Ji-o, Ryu Ji-kwang, Seol Ha-yoon, and Oh Song will perform, providing a spectacular finale to the festival.
