[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A Japanese man is facing backlash after posting a video on social media showing him sexually harassing a local female caddie at a golf course in Thailand.

According to the Thai local media Khaosod, on the 15th, a Japanese man edited and uploaded a video on Instagram that showed him sexually harassing or secretly filming a Thai female caddie.

The video shows the man touching the caddie's buttocks and caddies holding golf balls with the Japanese phrase "I am a promiscuous caddie" written on them. There is also a scene where Thai caddies appear embarrassed after receiving adult products from the Japanese man. Additionally, the Japanese man is seen touching the buttocks of a caddie walking ahead of him, making a caddie touch his body by holding her hand, and filming under a caddie's skirt.

The video quickly spread after a Japanese netizen, Mr. A, raised the issue on Twitter, saying, "A Japanese man sexually harassed a Thai woman and insulted Thai people on Instagram."

Mr. A criticized, "It seems Japanese people think they are allowed to do terrible things to Southeast Asians. Japanese men still treat Southeast Asian women as sex slaves in the 21st century. It is a disgrace to Japan."

Within Thailand, voices are calling for measures, blaming the weak legal system. Khaosod pointed out in an online article on the 18th, "Because Thai laws are weak, Japanese people do such things," and "People are requesting the governments of Thailand and Japan to take action."

Meanwhile, the original poster removed the video on the night of the 18th and deleted the Instagram account on the 19th.
