Jeongeup-si, Establishes 'Knowledge Sharing Space' to Revitalize Returning Farming and Returning to Rural Areas

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 21st that it has created a ‘Jisik Nanumi’ (Knowledge Sharing) space within the Comprehensive Support Center for Returning Farmers and Migrants, which serves as a hub for returning farmer and migrant policies, and has begun full-scale operation.

The ‘Jisik Nanumi’ space, established as part of the policy to revitalize returning farmers and migrants, is a bookshelf that gathers books related to returning farmers and migrants to help reduce trial and error that they may experience in the field and to support stable settlement.

With a total project cost of 4.4 million won, reading seats for users and wall bookshelves were prepared, and about 150 professional books related to returning farmers and migrants and about 70 books necessary for self-development were stocked.

Book loans are available to those who plan to return to farming or migrate to Jeongeup City or have a history of consultation regarding returning farmers and migrants.

Prospective returning farmers and migrants who wish to use the service can visit the Comprehensive Support Center for Returning Farmers and Migrants, fill out their information in the book loan register, and read or borrow books.

The city plans to strengthen promotion in connection with the returning farmers and migrants team and provide differentiated information services through continuous supplementation of materials.

A city official said, “We expect the ‘Jisik Nanumi’ space to be a great help to returning farmers and migrants who have moved to or wish to move to Jeongeup,” adding, “We plan to further expand professional books by analyzing user status in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Comprehensive Support Center for Returning Farmers and Migrants is a hub space that provides customized one-stop consultation services for urban residents wishing to return to farming and supports spaces for comfortable rest and information exchange.

The center is equipped with offices for consultation on returning farmers and migrants, an education center providing information and technical training necessary for settlement, a guesthouse, and multipurpose rooms.
