[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Evergreen Film University, operated in collaboration between Dongseo University and Gijang County, and 16 actors belonging to the Evergreen agency recently appeared in Kwangdong Pharmaceutical’s ‘Vita 500 TV commercial.’
The commercial features the slogan “Healthy choices for a healthy old age,” portraying Evergreen actors who have embarked on their second act in life as senior actors, drawing a vigorous future together with Vita 500.
Evergreen produced and submitted an advertisement for Kwangdong Pharmaceutical’s consumer participation campaign ‘Vita 500 On National On Air,’ and was selected as a TV commercial after competing against hundreds of entries.
The commercial was broadcast on terrestrial TV and can also be rewatched on the official YouTube channels of Evergreen and Kwangdong Pharmaceutical.
Professor Oh Se-jun of Dongseo University and Im Kwon-taek College of Film Arts, who directed the commercial, said, “We aimed to naturally blend the robust senior passion into the video, comparable to youth,” and added, “We hope to continuously support senior actors so they can realize their dreams.”
Evergreen has successfully secured TV appearances for its affiliated actors for two consecutive years through advertisements.
Last year, Kim Jun-tae and Lee Hae-soon, first graduates of Evergreen Film University, passed the audition for the COVID-19 prevention campaign ‘Start with Me Challenge’ and debuted in an MBC Gyeongnam TV commercial.
Evergreen Film University is one of the Evergreen project programs, a senior actor training school that educates seniors aged 65 and over residing in Gijang County in acting, singing, dancing, and helps them realize their dreams of becoming actors.
The trainees are also affiliated with the Evergreen agency and receive continuous management to enable casting for filming in movies, broadcasting, and advertisements.
Evergreen plans to continuously support the expansion of activity areas for its affiliated actors.
Kim Hyung-woo, professor at the College of Design and head of the Evergreen project, said, “We will enhance the sustainability and self-reliance of the project to make the Evergreen project a unique successful case of industry-academia cooperation in Jisan,” adding, “We aim to promote start-ups in the form of village enterprises using Evergreen’s rich actor infrastructure and establish self-generated revenue performances to strengthen cultural diversity and secure finances in the local community.”
Evergreen is a project focused on “happy lives for seniors,” supporting seniors to discover their own value, transform their lives, and overcome health and poverty issues.
Its detailed programs include ▲ Evergreen Film University ▲ Evergreen Agency ▲ Evergreen Village Media Education, and it receives support from the Busan Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute’s ‘2022 Community Win-Win Cooperation Support Project.’
