Asia Economy is hosting the 'Good Brain 2022 International Conference,' inviting domestic and international brain health experts to propose management and treatment for healthy aging, as well as government-level policy support. Although advances in science and medical technology have extended human lifespan, a significant portion of brain diseases such as dementia and Parkinson's disease remain areas yet to be overcome. However, research by academia and the medical community to overcome these challenges continues at this very moment, and new treatments like digital therapeutics (DTx) are being explored in various ways.
This event features Professor Kim Hyung-seok, Emeritus Professor at Yonsei University, a contemporary intellectual who awakens us with philosophical reflections that span his life even at the age of 103, sharing secrets to maintaining clear mental health in old age. Neuroscientist Professor Kim Dae-soo from KAIST will lecture on how a healthy brain influences our thoughts and behaviors and how artificial intelligence (AI) modeled after the human brain is developing. Professor Lee Ae-young from Chungnam National University Hospital's Neurology Department and Professor Han Chang-soo from Korea University Guro Hospital's Psychiatry Department will introduce the issues of dementia and brain health methods to prevent dementia, respectively.
In the following special lecture, Mia Kivipelto, professor at Karolinska Institute in Sweden and founder of the globally recognized 'FINGER program' for dementia prevention, will emphasize global solidarity to overcome dementia, which has expanded into a social issue today.
In the afternoon session, trends and success possibilities of domestic and international DTx technologies under research and development to improve or prevent symptoms of various diseases including brain disorders will be examined. Speakers include Professor Shin Jae-yong from Yonsei University College of Medicine, Megan Coder, Vice President of Policy at the World Digital Therapeutics Alliance, and Lee Hae-sung, Head of KT Digital Health P-TF.
Experts will also discuss the necessity of policy support and investment on how to support and nurture DTx developed by domestic researchers and companies to stand tall in the global market. The panel, chaired by Professor Kim Jae-jin of Gangnam Severance Hospital's Psychiatry Department, includes Kang Sung-min, Co-CEO of Rowan, Kang Sung-ji, CEO of Welt, Kang Young-gyu, Director of Digital Health Regulatory Support at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Noh Yoo-heon, Co-CEO of Imocog, Jung Tae-young, CEO of HipotianC, and Ha Sung-wook, Head of Strategic Planning at KMI Korea Medical Institute.
We look forward to your enthusiastic support for this event, which will share extensive knowledge and diverse opinions from experts in brain health, dementia prevention, and DTx technology fields and propose solutions.
