Gimhae City "Free Rental of Automatic Blood Pressure Monitors and Blood Glucose Meters!"

The Dongbu Health Living Support Center in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, is implementing a free rental program for automatic blood pressure monitors and blood glucose meters.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Dongbu Health Living Support Center in Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, will provide free rental of automatic blood pressure monitors and blood glucose meters to residents of the Dongbu area starting in September.

This service targets residents with addresses in Saman-dong, Hwalcheon-dong, and Bulam-dong who have been diagnosed with hypertension or diabetes, or those in the pre-diagnosis stage.

The rental period for each device is three months, and if there are no waiting applicants, the period can be extended.

Residents who wish to rent the devices must call the support center to make a reservation in advance, then receive device usage training on the second floor of the center at the Dongbu Health Living Support Team, and take home the device along with test strips, lancets, disinfectant swabs, and other medical consumables.

Visitors to the support center can have their blood pressure and blood glucose levels measured and receive one-on-one counseling with a chronic disease specialist. Based on the counseling results, related services such as cooking classes and exercise classes linked with the nutrition room and health management room will be provided.

Lee Jonghak, the head of the public health center, said, “This project aims to reduce the economic burden on chronic disease patients and improve their self-management abilities through the rental of medical devices,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to help local residents become healthier through various projects in the future.”
