Chosun University 2023 Academic Year Early Admission 5.2 to 1 Competition Ratio

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University (President Min Youngdon) announced on the 19th that in the 2023 academic year early admission application, a total of 19,445 applicants applied for 3,762 recruitment spots, recording a competition rate of 5.2 to 1 (5.3 to 1 within the quota).

By admission type, the competition rates were 4.6 to 1 for Student Record Curriculum (General Admission), 3.3 to 1 for Student Record Curriculum (Military Science Department Admission), 7.7 to 1 for Student Record Comprehensive (General Admission), 5.4 to 1 for Student Record Comprehensive (Regional Talent Admission), and 3.6 to 1 for Practical/Performance (Practical Admission).

In Student Record Curriculum (General Admission), the competition rates were 25.2 to 1 for the Department of Medicine, 38.8 to 1 for the Department of Dentistry, and 17.7 to 1 for the Department of Pharmacy.

In Student Record Curriculum (Regional Talent Admission), the competition rates were 13.4 to 1 for the Department of Medicine, 21.3 to 1 for the Department of Dentistry, and 14.9 to 1 for the Department of Pharmacy. In the Student Record Comprehensive (General Admission), which is recruiting medical fields for the first time this year, the competition rates were 24.4 to 1 for the Department of Medicine, 25.7 to 1 for the Department of Dentistry, and 23.0 to 1 for the Department of Pharmacy.

Looking at the competition rates for each admission unit excluding Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, in Student Record Curriculum (General Admission), the competition rates were highest in the order of Department of Nursing, Department of Earth Science Education, Department of Police Administration, Department of Sports Industry, Department of Speech Therapy, and Department of Architecture (5-year program).

In Student Record Comprehensive (General Admission), the competition rates were highest in the order of Department of Architecture (5-year program), Department of Nursing, Department of Police Administration, Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Public Administration and Welfare, Department of Creative Writing, and Department of Fire and Disaster Management.

In Practical/Performance (Practical Admission), the competition rates were highest in the order of Department of Cartoon and Animation, Department of Creative Writing, and Department of Taekwondo.

The deadline for submitting documents is until the 23rd of this month.

The second stage evaluation for Student Record Curriculum (Military Science Department Admission) will be held from October 4th to 6th, and the interview exams for Student Record Comprehensive (General Admission, Software Admission) will be conducted from November 25th to 26th.

The practical exam will be held on October 15th, and since the schedules differ by admission type, examinees must attend according to the respective schedules.

The final successful candidates for early admission will be announced on November 11th for Student Record Comprehensive (Regional Talent Admission) and on December 15th for the other admission types.

In the 2023 academic year early admission, to reduce the burden on examinees, the minimum CSAT score requirement was relaxed (for medical fields and College of Education), and the interview exams for Student Record Curriculum (General Admission) were abolished. Interview evaluations will only be conducted for Student Record Comprehensive (General Admission, Software Admission) and Student Record Curriculum (Military Science Department Admission).
