- Total investment amount of 2.4 billion KRW in 2022
- Achieved cumulative investment amount of 4.8 billion KRW since establishment in 2017
Women’s wellness brand Dansek announced on the 19th that it has secured Series A investment worth 2 billion KRW.
This round was led by Wise Planet Company, which participated in the bridge investment in 2021, along with NBH Capital and others.
Dansek received final approval for the private-led technology startup program ‘TIPS’ at the end of August and was granted scale-up funding. Dansek is a femtech company (Femtech: technology or products related to women's health), not a commerce company, and plans to use the investment to develop new fabrics and enhance product functionality.
Starting in 2017 with one product, Comfort Air (non-leak panties), a high-performance sanitary panty with an integrated absorbent pad, Dansek recorded over 100% growth annually until 2021. This sales growth was based on product expansion following the establishment of its brand identity as a women’s wellness company.
Currently, Dansek has expanded its product line to include the ‘First Bra of Life’ Junior Free Bra, and seamless underwear called Skinwear, suitable for pregnant women and the elderly, tailored to women’s life cycles. In particular, the new product ‘Comfort Air (non-leak panties) Overnight’ launched in July recorded sales of 300,000 units solely for the leak-proof sanitary panties.
Dansek CEO Hwang Tae-eun said, “More than 80% of our employees are women, making Dansek a company where all staff can contribute ideas to product development,” adding, “We will leverage this strength to develop products that reflect women’s needs from menarche, pregnancy, to urinary incontinence.”
