[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Jamface announced on the 19th that it has launched a new diagnostic service that allows users to easily diagnose their skin type and check the compatibility of cosmetics with their skin through the app.
Jamface's newly introduced "Skin Type Diagnosis" (hereinafter Skin Matching) service utilizes AI deep learning technology. By taking a facial photo through the app, it comprehensively analyzes skin conditions such as oil and moisture content, sensitivity, as well as skin concerns like acne, blemishes, and skin elasticity, accurately identifying the skin type. After the skin type diagnosis, users can immediately check the compatibility between cosmetics and their skin through the "Cosmetics Diagnosis" (hereinafter Cosmetics Matching) service.
The Cosmetics Matching service allows users to search for skincare products they are using or wish to purchase, and provides compatibility results between the cosmetics and their skin in eight categories such as "Perfect Match," "Fits Well," and "Average." This evaluation is based on a comprehensive consideration of all ingredient functions and contents, blending ratios, cautionary ingredients for each skin type, and clinical trial results on the skin. On the results page, users can easily view essential ingredients for their skin, ingredients to avoid, and full ingredient information at a glance.
In particular, users can check both their skin type diagnosis and the compatibility between their skin type and cosmetics with just one search.
Currently, the Cosmetics Matching service supports about 4,000 products in the toner and serum categories. Jamface plans to continuously expand the categories of matchable products to include creams, cleansers, and more. If users request the registration of products that are not yet matchable, the company registers the product and sends a notification message within 2 to 3 days.
Yoon Jungha, CEO of Jamface, stated, “With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, interest in skincare products has surged. We expect to simplify the previously difficult and complex process of finding products suitable for one’s skin type, thereby alleviating the inconvenience faced by users who had difficulty making decisions when purchasing cosmetics.”
