[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] Son Heung-min (30), who plays for Tottenham in England's professional football league, came on as a substitute in the second half against Leicester City and scored three goals, achieving a hat-trick.

On the 18th (Korean time), Son Heung-min was brought on in the 14th minute of the second half, replacing Richarlison, during the 8th round home match of the 2022-2023 English Premier League against Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK. He scored three goals and led the team to a 6-2 victory.

Son Heung-min, who had not scored in any of the eight official matches this season, including league games and UEFA Champions League matches, scored three consecutive goals when the team was leading 3-2. It was about two months since Son scored wearing the Tottenham uniform, last doing so in a friendly match against Team K League held in Seoul in July.

In league matches, this was his first goal in about four months since the final match of the 2021-2022 season against Norwich City in May. Additionally, this is the third time Son Heung-min has recorded a hat-trick in a Premier League match, following four goals against Southampton in September 2020 and three goals against Aston Villa in April this year.

Prior to that, he scored three goals in a single match in the German Bundesliga against Hamburg in 2013 and Wolfsburg in 2015. As a Tottenham player, he also achieved a hat-trick in an English Football Association (FA) Cup match against Millwall in March 2017.
