Stage Introducing Korean Hip-Hop and Jazz Music... Prepared at Gwanghwamun Square and Jamsil Sports Complex
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] An opportunity has been created for people around the world to explore the Hallyu planet "THE-K," which captures the charm of Korean culture. The exploration is named "2022 Korean Culture Festival," with the slogan "INTO THE-K." The subjects of exploration include globally beloved Korean (K) dramas, K-pop, indie music, hip-hop, as well as a parade embodying the essence of Korean culture, Korean cuisine, and beauty.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, will take place from the 30th of this month to the 8th of next month at Gwanghwamun Square and Jamsil Sports Complex. A policy official from the Ministry stated, "We have prepared a festival where you can enjoy all aspects of Hallyu centered on dramas and K-pop," adding, "It is a global Hallyu festival where you can experience the essence of Korean culture, including not only popular culture but also traditional culture and related industries."
The event will begin with a pre-opening ceremony at 7 p.m. on the 30th at Heungnyemun Gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Under the theme "Korean Culture, Blossoming the Future at the Palace," it will introduce Korean culture where the past and present coexist through ink wash croquis performances and Korean classical music.
On the second day (the 1st), the opening ceremony held at Gwanghwamun Square will feature a gala show themed around dramas that sparked the Hallyu wave. Singers Kyuhyun, Kim Nayoung, and Paul Kim, who performed insert songs from dramas such as "Dae Jang Geum," "Itaewon Class," "The Red Sleeve," and "My Liberation Notes," will perform. NCT Dream, STAYC, XG, and BLANK2Y will take the stage at "THE-K Concert" held on the 7th at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil Sports Complex.
Stages introducing Korean hip-hop and jazz music will be set up at Gwanghwamun Square and Jamsil Sports Complex. From the 2nd to the 8th of next month, "THE-K Stage" will feature performances by Pentagon, Brave Girls, VIVIZ, CIX, JK Kim Dongwook, Jung In, Sunwoo Jung-a, 10cm, CHEEZE, Stella Jang, Louis, Yuseong Eun, The Quiett, Raiden, and Ginjo.
The grand finale of the event, "THE-K Parade," will be held on the last day of the festival (the 8th). Starting from Jongno 5-ga and marching to Gwanghwamun Square, it will offer a meaningful experience to Hallyu fans exploring the Hallyu planet "THE-K."
The festival will be broadcast live on the official Korean Culture Festival YouTube channel.
