Why Did Gwanak-gu Hold the '2022 Our Neighborhood Education Forum'?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will hold the '2022 Our Village Education Forum' on the 20th to share the activities of the Gwanak Innovation Education District over the past eight years and to explore the development direction of the village education community.

This forum is planned by Gwanak Education Dure, the public-private-academic governance of the Gwanak Innovation Education District, and is designed to provide time for students, parents, teachers, and local residents to discuss together, aiming to seek the direction of Gwanak Innovation Education through the village education community.

The forum will be held at 3 p.m. on the 20th at the Gwanak-gu Office auditorium. It will begin with a keynote presentation titled 'The Vision Desired by the Gwanak Village Education Community,' sharing the achievements of the Gwanak Innovation Education District project over the past eight years and reflecting on how various educational stakeholders communicated and cooperated.

Following this, participants can choose one topic of interest from the common theme 'Subjects, Scope, and Activities of the Village Education Community' and four subtopics: ▲Support for children and youth autonomous activities ▲Community linkage for ecological transition education ▲Communication and cooperation between village and school ▲Activities to enhance restorative resilience, and participate in the discussion.

Anyone interested in innovative education, including students, parents, teachers, and local residents, can participate by applying through the QR code or link on the Gwanak-gu Office website's news section under Gwanak News.

Since being designated as a Seoul-type Innovation Education District in 2015, the district has successfully promoted innovation education projects, leading positive changes in an educational ecosystem where learning and rest coexist.

This year, a total of 1.484 billion KRW has been invested in the Gwanak Innovation Education District project, promoting 30 projects in four areas to create an educational city where youth, schools, and the village nurture dreams: ▲Public-private-academic governance ▲School education with the village ▲Strengthening support for village activities ▲Support for children and youth autonomy.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “This education forum, centered on voluntary participation from the private sector, will serve as an opportunity to further activate public-private-academic governance,” adding, “We hope that through active participation from residents, various opinions on the development of village education will be discovered, making Gwanak an innovation education district where children and youth are happy.”
