[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Nayeon] Samsung Electronics has unveiled an advertisement for the 'Galaxy Z Flip 4' targeting iPhone users.

This ad, released immediately after the announcement of the 'iPhone 14,' carries the message to join the Galaxy side, where the phone folds.

On the 8th of this month, Samsung Electronics released a video titled 'Join the flip side' on its YouTube channel. Using the phrase 'flip side,' which sounds the same as the product name (flip), it conveys the meaning of inviting iPhone users to switch to Galaxy.

The video depicts an iPhone user who initially expresses loyalty by saying, "I’m not switching to Galaxy," but eventually falls for the charm of the Flip 4 and changes their phone.

Through this video, Samsung Electronics emphasized the foldable feature that allows the Flip 4 to stand on the floor for camera shooting.

Samsung Electronics has been continuously releasing messages targeting Apple. On the 8th, Samsung Electronics’ U.S. branch posted a message saying, "Let us know when you fold that," mocking the fact that the iPhone 14 cannot fold like the Galaxy Fold or Flip.

Earlier, right after the announcement of the 'iPhone 13' last year, Samsung Electronics’ U.S. branch pointed out the late adoption of the 120Hz screen refresh rate by tweeting, "How much cooler would it be if it folded in half?"

In a recent 'Galaxy Watch 5' advertisement, a round circular symbol is shown knocking down square shapes standing like bowling pins. This is a metaphor comparing the square Apple Watch and the round Galaxy Watch. In August last year, the 'Galaxy Watch 4' ad also depicted a quickly rolling circle knocking down rectangular domino-like shapes one by one.

At the 'Galaxy S22' series launch event in February, Samsung Electronics targeted the exaggerated waterproof claims of the iPhone through a parody of Netflix’s popular drama 'Bridgerton.'

In the past, Samsung has also conducted marketing mocking Apple’s removal of the headphone jack and lack of charger provision. Additionally, when Apple applied the notch (a cutout on the smartphone screen for placing cameras, etc.), which was criticized as ‘M-shaped hair loss,’ Samsung released advertisements that satirized it.
