Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam "Have a Bountiful Chuseok Holiday"

Visit to 5 Organizations and Facilities Including the Daehan Senior Citizens Association Goseong Branch

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, visited social welfare facilities to share warm feelings in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, visited social welfare facilities in the area on the 8th to share warm feelings in celebration of Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday.

On this day, County Governor Lee Sang-geun visited the Goseong County Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, Goseong Sarang House, and Goseong Mental Care Center to check the current operation status with facility officials, listen to difficulties, comfort the elderly for their hard work, and encourage the staff.

Additionally, Deputy Governor Lee Ki-bong visited Borisu Dongsan and Angel’s House to carry out consolation activities.

Governor Lee said, “Although all residents are going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, I hope everyone shares warm feelings with neighbors and enjoys a bountiful Chuseok, the traditional holiday of our nation. We will continue to strive administratively to closely watch over marginalized neighbors so that no welfare blind spots occur.”

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 during this visit, all visitors strictly followed quarantine rules such as wearing masks and hand sanitizing, and only a minimal number of people participated.

Goseong-gun delivered consolation goods to about 470 low-income households, elderly living alone, multicultural families, and single-parent families across 14 towns and townships, and the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea plans to support 400 households with 50,000 KRW per household. In addition, consolation goods were delivered to 27 social welfare facilities and organizations for the disabled.
