Dongseo University and Korea Tourism Organization Sign Agreement for 'Tourism e-Learning Platform Utilization Education Cooperation' ... First University in Busan Dongseo University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University and the Korea Tourism Organization recently signed a business agreement for ‘Cooperation in Utilizing the Tourism e-Learning Platform for Education’ to enhance the professionalism of tourism personnel.

As the first agreement signed by a university in Busan, Dongseo University will receive support from the Korea Tourism Organization to operate customized courses on the Tourism e-Learning platform’s educational content.

Dongseo University plans to actively utilize the Korea Tourism Organization’s support in both major subjects and extracurricular programs to enhance students’ theoretical and practical capabilities.

The Tourism e-Learning platform currently offers a total of about 270 tourism-related courses, including tourism content, guided tours, lodging, and travel agencies.

In particular, it has abundantly secured curricula focused on recent trends such as digital tourism, travel tech, big data analysis, tourism venture startups, and mobile marketing.

The core strengths of the Tourism e-Learning platform are providing customized education and enhancing learner participation.

The platform offers tailored content according to individual learners’ occupations or areas of interest, and organizations or institutions can operate integrated educational programs by combining individual lectures according to educational purposes using the ‘custom course’ function.

Additionally, it can serve as a social learning platform where users can upload self-produced educational content and communicate with other learners through community functions.

Sung Eun-hee, Director of the LINC 3.0 Project Group DX Tourism ICC Center, said, “First, we aim to cultivate students’ capabilities by linking extracurricular courses or field training with the use of Tourism e-Learning content, and in the future, we plan to expand this further to incorporate it into the regular curriculum.”
