[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairman Kim Taewan) announced on the 8th that it conducted consolation activities by visiting social welfare facilities in the district from the 5th to the 7th in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
This consolation activity was carried out to look after neighbors in need during Chuseok and to create a warm holiday atmosphere filled with compassion in the local community, which has been subdued due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The council sequentially visited 11 facilities, including Joyful Community Children's Center, Eomji Disabled Group Home, Hanam Welfare Center, and Yongjin Childcare Center, delivering consolation gifts prepared at the council level.
The council members took meaningful time to check on the difficulties in facility operations and to encourage welfare facility staff who are silently volunteering despite challenging conditions.
Chairman Kim Taewan said, “We contributed our sincerity hoping that neighbors residing in social welfare facilities would have a warm holiday during Chuseok,” and added, “The Gwangsan District Council will take the lead in carefully watching over with interest and affection so that no neighbor is left out.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangsan District Council has been delivering consolation gifts to social welfare facilities in the district every holiday, striving to spread a culture of neighborly love and sharing for the underprivileged.
