[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Grand Korea Leisure (hereinafter GKL) announced on the 8th that it conducted a ‘Chuseok Neighbor Sharing Social Contribution Activity’ on the 7th in three locations: Gangnam-gu and Yongsan-gu in Seoul, and Busanjin-gu in Busan.

The ‘GKL Dream and Hope Volunteer Group,’ composed of GKL employees, delivered holiday foods such as rice cakes and jeon purchased from local traditional markets to about 500 underprivileged households, including grandparent-grandchild families and elderly households, in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and Busanjin-gu, Busan, where GKL business sites are located.

Additionally, Chuseok gift packages containing quarantine supplies were delivered to about 20 multicultural families residing in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Previously, GKL was recognized for its customized social contribution activities, including ▲promoting a smart care job discovery project with Jung-gu Office in Seoul ▲supporting briquettes for energy-poor households in Seoul and Busan ▲building a social safety net job project with the Gangnam Regional Self-Sufficiency Center ▲donating to the Rural and Fishing Village Win-Win Cooperation Fund ▲and promoting tourism in Hocheon Village, Busanjin-gu, leading to its selection as a ‘Community Contribution Recognized Company’ for three consecutive years.

Kim Youngsan, CEO of GKL, said, “Ahead of the holiday and with the added impact of the typhoon, we prepared this volunteer activity to deliver warm care to neighbors who are more easily marginalized.” He added, “GKL will continue to do its best to realize various social values as a public enterprise.”
