[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Two corporate relocation complexes will be established in the Hanam Gyosan district of Gyeonggi Province.
GH announced on the 7th that, in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and Hanam Urban Corporation (HUIC), it has announced a revision plan to create corporate relocation industrial complexes within the 'Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District,' which supplies 33,000 housing units by 2028 across 6.86 million square meters in Hanam Cheonhyeon, Gyosan, and Chungyung-dong.
According to this revision plan, among the two corporate relocation complexes, the Gwangam corporate relocation complex will be a 280,000 square meter manufacturing complex located in Gwangam-dong, Hanam City, and the Sangsan-gok corporate relocation complex will be a 260,000 square meter logistics complex located in Sangsan-gok-dong.
The Hanam Gyosan corporate relocation project is being promoted following the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's announcement in December 2018 regarding the 3rd New Towns, which stated the principle of relocation before demolition to ensure the resettlement of original residents.
In particular, this corporate relocation differentiates itself from previous new towns where the relocation-before-demolition policy was not applied, aiming to facilitate the smooth progress of the Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District and to enable continuous business operations for companies accommodated within the Gyosan district.
The Hanam Gyosan district plans to conduct consultations among joint project implementers and residents to complete the district plan revision approval in 2023, commence construction of the corporate relocation complexes in 2024, and finalize corporate relocation measures before the first move-in in 2027.
A GH official stated, "We will do our best in corporate relocation to set a model case for other projects through the establishment of corporate relocation complexes, and ensure that the Hanam Gyosan new town contributes to balanced development in eastern Gyeonggi Province."
