Damyang-gun Implements Comprehensive Measures for Chuseok Holiday Period


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that it will implement comprehensive measures until the 12th to ensure a safe and happy Chuseok holiday for residents and visitors returning home.


Ten task forces, including those for COVID-19 response, traffic, price stabilization, resolving resident inconveniences, and tourism guidance, will be organized around a general control team to conduct emergency duty.


In particular, to prevent the re-spread of COVID-19 during the Chuseok holiday, a thorough medical system will be established alongside quarantine measures.


The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will conduct emergency duty during the Chuseok holiday, operate screening clinics, emergency medical situation rooms, and isolation facilities, and designate and operate on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies to minimize medical service gaps during the holiday period.


Additionally, through the operation of a special transportation countermeasure situation room, traffic flow and safe driving will be managed during the holiday period, supporting tourists and visitors through special Chuseok holiday traffic measures.


The Price Stabilization Task Force will promote the protection of low-income households by managing the supply and price stabilization of essential goods and cracking down on origin labeling violations.


Furthermore, consolation goods will be delivered to social welfare facilities and all low-income households in the area to create a warm holiday atmosphere of sharing during the difficult times caused by COVID-19.


Moreover, focused collection measures for household waste will be promoted, and through the operation of the county cemetery comprehensive task force and the water and sewage inconvenience reporting center, inconveniences for residents and visitors during the holiday period will be minimized.


In addition, Juknokwon, Meta Land, Soswaewon, and Gamagol Ecological Park will be open free of charge on Chuseok day.


However, to prevent the re-spread of COVID-19 and create a safe tourism environment, indoor facilities such as the Gasamunhak Museum, Bamboo Museum, and Tourism Information Center will be closed.


County Governor Lee Byeongno said, “As confirmed cases are increasing due to the recent re-spread of COVID-19, we will focus more on quarantine and do our best to ensure the safety of residents and visitors and minimize inconveniences,” and added, “Ahead of the holiday, to support producers who are struggling due to decreased rice consumption and falling rice prices, we ask visitors to participate in the rice gift campaign to promote rice consumption.”
