[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, issued a "Typhoon Hin Namno Northward Advance Resident Evacuation Order" at 12 noon on the 5th.
The order applies to 80 areas at risk of coastal and lowland flooding and landslides: 10 locations in Uichang-gu, 11 in Seongsan-gu, 30 in Masanhappo-gu, 22 in Masanhoewon-gu, and 7 in Jinhae-gu.
A total of 156 people must move to 54 evacuation sites including village halls, senior centers, administrative welfare centers, civil service centers, and elementary schools.
This is a public announcement under Article 40, Paragraph 1 of the Framework Act on Disaster and Safety Management, effective until the evacuation order is lifted, and violators may be fined up to 2 million won.
Evacuation locations by area can be found on the city’s website or by contacting related departments such as the Citizen Safety Division and Natural Disaster Management.
The city plans to complete evacuation measures by 6 p.m. on the same day and will notify the evacuation period in advance considering the on-site situation.
