No Human Casualties Must Occur... Sang-geun Lee, Goseong County Governor, Holds Typhoon Preparedness Situation Review Meeting

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Lee Sang-geun, Governor of Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, held a meeting at 8 a.m. on the 5th with more than 30 senior officials including the deputy governor, directors, and department heads to check the typhoon preparedness status by department.

The governor said, "Typhoon No. 11 'Hinnamnor' is not only very large compared to previous typhoons, but Goseong-gun is expected to enter the typhoon's core zone at 6 a.m. on the 6th," and emphasized, "We must thoroughly prepare as damage from strong winds and heavy rain is expected."

He also instructed, "Strengthening pre-inspection is the most important aspect of typhoon preparedness," and ordered, "Please conduct pre-inspections of vulnerable areas such as low-lying coastal areas and landslide-prone zones, and check the quantity and condition of flood control materials in advance."

Furthermore, he urged for swift recovery and response in case of typhoon damage, carefully reviewing relief activity plans, flood debris disposal plans, and restoration plans for facilities such as small streams and roads, and ordered that administrative power be fully concentrated to resolve any emergency situations.

The governor stressed that no casualties should occur due to the typhoon, saying, "I hope that town and township heads, along with village chiefs and block leaders, work together with local residents to actively guide them on safety rules including refraining from going out."
