[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SK Telecom exclusively launched the cost-effective 5G smartphone ‘Galaxy Wide6’ on the 2nd. The retail price of the ‘Galaxy Wide6’ is 349,800 KRW. It also features a 6.5-inch large screen, a 50-megapixel camera, a 5000mAh large-capacity battery with 15W fast charging, and 128GB of storage capacity.
Consumers can use the device for around 50,000 KRW per month, including the device price, when choosing the 5G Basic Plus plan. To commemorate the launch, customers who purchase the Galaxy Wide6 and newly subscribe to YouTube Premium (10,450 KRW/month) can enjoy a 2-month free trial benefit until March 1 of next year. Additionally, until the 20th of next month, new and device-changing customers can also enjoy a 3-month free trial of the Woozoo Pass Hot Pack (5,900 KRW/month), which offers benefits worth about 30,000 KRW at convenience stores, cafes, beauty shops, movies, and mobile accessories.
SKT is expanding customers’ choices by diversifying its 5G smartphone lineup, ranging from flagship devices like the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 to practical devices priced in the 300,000 KRW range. In particular, the Galaxy Wide series, an SKT-exclusive device line, has sold over 3 million units since its first release in 2016.
