Yongin City Publishes Braille Guidebook for Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Competition

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City, which is hosting the Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Competition, has attracted attention by publishing a comprehensive guidebook in Braille.

Yongin City announced on the 2nd that it published and distributed the comprehensive guidebook for the "12th Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Competition 2022 Yongin," held from the 1st to the 3rd of this month, in Braille.

The Braille guidebook contains an overview of the competition, schedules, and match brackets for seven events in which visually impaired athletes participate: gateball, billiards, dance sports, bowling, weightlifting, athletics, and rowing.

The city placed the Braille books at the venues for the seven events with visually impaired athletes and also distributed them to the teams from each city and county.

A city official said, "We produced the Braille guidebook to help visually impaired athletes easily and conveniently check competition information," and promised, "We will do our best to support the event until the last day so that this Gyeonggi-do Disabled Sports Competition becomes a place of harmony where people with and without disabilities consider each other and build camaraderie."
