Amorepacific Acquires US Beauty Brand 'Tata Harper' Key products of the American clean beauty brand 'Tata Harper'.


[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Amorepacific announced on the 1st that it will acquire the American luxury clean beauty brand ‘Tata Harper’.


On the same day, Amorepacific disclosed that it will acquire 100% of the shares of ‘Tata’s Natural Alchemy,’ the operating company of the Tata Harper brand. Amorepacific raised approximately 168.1 billion KRW through a paid-in capital increase for this acquisition.


According to Amorepacific, the current leading trend in the U.S. beauty market is ‘Clean Beauty.’ Tata Harper is a rapidly growing luxury skincare brand leading this trend. Since its inception in 2010, it has been known for strictly adhering to the principles of clean beauty throughout all processes, from product development to packaging. In particular, it uses only 100% natural ingredients free from genetically modified organisms (GMO), additives, artificial colors and fragrances, and synthetic chemicals, building a strong fandom in the North American market. Its products are sold through online channels such as Net-a-Porter and Cult Beauty, as well as over 800 offline stores including Sephora and Neiman Marcus.


Amorepacific plans to accelerate its entry into the North American beauty market through this acquisition. Especially, it aims to strengthen its position in the North American luxury skincare market by conducting intensive marketing activities together with Tata Harper. To this end, it will attempt to enhance product competitiveness and expand new categories through joint research with Tata Harper. It will also focus on improving production and logistics facilities and processes to strengthen Tata Harper’s profitability. Additionally, it will simultaneously undertake restructuring efforts to expand Tata Harper’s business in North America and Europe and to enter additional Asian markets.
