About 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, former President Moon Jae-in and his wife, Mrs. Kwon Yang-sook, Democratic Party lawmakers Min Hong-chul and Kim Jeong-ho, Jeong Se-gyun, Chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, former Chairmen Han Myeong-sook, Lee Byeong-wan, and Yoo Si-min.

The Cultural Experience Exhibition Hall was built on a total area of 3,780㎡ with two floors above ground in Bonsan-ri, Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam Province, replacing the existing Memorial House next to former President Roh’s burial site.
According to the city, after the building was completed in August 2020, an additional 4 billion KRW was invested to complete the installation of internal exhibition contents last March. The total project cost amounted to 17.8 billion KRW, combining national funds, local funds, and the budget of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation.
The name of the exhibition hall is derived from former President Roh’s last briefing before retirement, where he mentioned, “The last stronghold of democracy is the organized power of awake citizens.”
The building was designed by the representative of the comprehensive architectural firm that designed former President Roh’s burial site, and the exhibition hall is operated by the Bongha Memorial Project Group of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation.
The first floor of the exhibition hall consists of 10 exhibition rooms where visitors can see photos and records containing the life story of former President Roh and materials from the Participatory Government era.
The second floor is equipped with a family rest area, seminar rooms, and a special exhibition room for family visitors.
The admission fee is 2,000 KRW for adults, but Gimhae citizens can purchase tickets at a 50% discounted price.
A provincial official said, “With the opening of this Cultural Experience Exhibition Hall, we will provide tourists visiting Bongha Village with opportunities to experience history and culture, establish a tourist district linked with Hwapocheon Wetland Ecological Park and Nakdong River Rail Park, and create new tourism content that will lead to the revitalization of tourism in Gyeongnam.”
