[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] Broadcaster Kim Jedoong shared an update on his recent activities. On the 27th, he appeared at the 13th Bongha Music Festival and spoke about his current lectures at middle and high schools.
On this day, Kim Jedoong said, "These days, I give lectures while attending middle and high schools," adding, "I receive about 180,000 to 200,000 won per lecture."
Previously, in June 2019, Kim Jedoong had suspended his activities after allegations arose that he received over 10 million won per lecture during lectures for local governments nationwide. His remarks about lecture fees at middle and high schools appear to be an indirect clarification regarding the controversy over high lecture fees.
During the lecture, Kim Jedoong said, "Have I ever talked about politics in my life?" and then mentioned the constitution. He began, "The Constitution of the Republic of Korea was created through the cooperation of both the left and right. I want to talk about that constitution."
He continued, "When I wrote a book report on the constitution, a member of the National Assembly said, 'What would someone who graduated from a junior college know?' When a reporter called me, I told them to convey this message: 'Even I, who graduated from a junior college, know it,'" emphasizing his point.
Kim Jedoong also explained, "Article 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution states, 'All power in the Republic of Korea comes from the people.' The word 'power' appears only once throughout all 130 articles of the Constitution." He stressed, "That is the spirit of our Constituent National Assembly."
Meanwhile, in 2021, Kim Jedoong published a humanities and liberal arts book titled When Questions Become Answers. In the preface, he wrote, "Even if we cannot find answers immediately, I wanted to take this opportunity to check together, comfort each other, encourage one another, and create small promises and paths."
