[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Ministry of Environment announced that it will hold a seminar on the 1st to share innovative environmental regulation measures with the international community.


On the same day, the Ministry of Environment will hold a joint seminar with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) at the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute in Seoul to explore ways to advance environmental regulations.


This seminar was organized to inform the domestic audience about international environmental regulation trends and to share South Korea's innovative environmental regulation measures with the international community.


The seminar will include stakeholders such as OECD regulatory experts, academia, economic organizations, and civil society.


Jola Turer, OECD Environmental Regulation Officer, will introduce "International Environmental Regulation Trends and Best Practices," and Florentin Blanc, OECD Environmental Regulation Officer, will present on "Measures to Ensure Environmental Regulation Compliance."


Following this, Enrico Bota, OECD Green Growth International Cooperation Officer, will present on "Designing Environmental Policies for Green Growth," and Choi Hanchang, Team Leader of the Ministry of Environment's Environmental Regulation Field Response TF, will present on "Innovative Environmental Regulation Measures."


Lee Changhoon, President of the Korea Environment Institute, will moderate the session, where domestic experts will engage in discussions and conduct Q&A through an online video conferencing program.


Lee Younggi, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Environment, said, "We plan to transform environmental regulations into innovation-driven forms that comply with international standards," adding, "We will promote environmental regulation innovation by sharing and thoroughly discussing regulatory innovation directions with international organizations, domestic and foreign experts, and stakeholders."
