Military Band Parade Fest, Residents' Singing Contest, Experience Events, and Stage Performances Arranged
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The 'Baekkob Festival' in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon, which was suspended from 2020 due to COVID-19, will be held for three days starting from the 2nd at Yanggu Seocheon Leisure Sports Park.
Yanggu-gun announced on the 1st, "The Baekkob Festival, which was previously focused on water play, will be transformed into a cultural and arts festival from this year, centered on the residents, and will be held with performances and experiential events."
Visitors can try playing musical instruments that are not usually accessible, enjoy classical performances such as clarinet ensembles and youth orchestras through the 'Instrument Village' program, experience the five senses by following the footsteps of fairy tales in the Fairy Tale Village, and at night, visit the haunted house to beat the late summer heat.
The Army Headquarters, Marine Corps, 3rd Corps, and 12th Division will hold a 'Military Band Parade Fest' to fill the festival venue with a festive atmosphere for three days.
On the first day of the event, the 2nd, a radio public broadcast featuring popular singers will be held on the Baekkob Festival special stage. On the 3rd, a musical performance titled 'My Dad is the Best' for children and family visitors will be held, followed by main performances by Nataju, Choi Baek-ho, and Hye-jin.
On the last day of the festival, the 4th, saxophone performances and shows by Napalbak, Seok Yi-jung, and Lee Ho-il will take place, along with a residents' singing contest, nighttime fireworks, amusement rides, and food and entertainment featuring local agricultural specialties.
Additionally, various experience booths such as craft workshops, the Baekja Museum, Prehistoric and Modern History Museum, and a food poisoning prevention bus will be operated.
Seo Heung-won, the mayor of Yanggu-gun, said, "The Baekkob Festival, held for the first time in three years, offers residents opportunities to participate with sights, entertainment, and food."
