[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 31st that it held a seminar on digital transformation for franchise and logistics industries targeting metropolitan area corporate clients at El Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Hosted by KT Gangnam Western Metropolitan Headquarters, the seminar held on the afternoon of the 30th was divided into two sessions: 'Store Efficiency,' introducing artificial intelligence (AI)/digital transformation (DX) solutions, and 'Digital Logistics.' About 230 participants from related industries such as franchise, food service, and manufacturing attended the seminar.

The store efficiency session began with a congratulatory speech by Sung Won-je, Executive Director of KT Gangnam Corporate Customer Headquarters. Lee Sang-ho, Executive Director and Head of KT AI Robot Business Group, introduced KT’s franchise DX solutions including ‘AI Service Robot,’ ‘AI Disinfection Robot,’ ‘Smart Order,’ ‘Jalnagage,’ ‘AICC,’ and ‘Document DX.’

Following this, Hwang Sang-hyun, CEO of Smartcast, shared his experience using ‘Orderit,’ which integrates with KT AI Service Robots to increase store revenue, and franchise company Doctor Robin introduced their experience using KT AI Service Robots.

In the digital logistics session, Kim Jae-nam, Executive Director of KT AI Mobility Business Group, explained the significance of the digital logistics business and introduced KT’s logistics affiliate Rollab (lolab). He also outlined KT’s plans for promoting cooperation in the digital logistics business.

At the seminar venue, demonstrations and hands-on events were held for Smartcast’s smart order solution ‘Orderit,’ Denan’s robot-linked call solution ‘Bellux,’ and The Nine Company Korea’s kiosk solution ‘Order Nine,’ attracting the attention of attendees.

Jung Jeong-su, Managing Director of KT Gangnam Western Metropolitan Headquarters, said, “AI robots not only replace difficult and tedious repetitive tasks, allowing focus on improving service quality, but also integrate with various solutions such as table order, Jalnagage, and AICC to provide customers with new experiences. KT plans to lead various digital innovations in store efficiency and digital logistics fields.”

Meanwhile, KT has launched AI service robots, AI hotel robots, AI care robots, and AI disinfection robots to target the rapidly growing robot service market. The company plans to continuously expand its service platform into new business areas such as delivery, logistics, environment, and F&B. In logistics, KT established the digital logistics specialized subsidiary Rollab last year. Based on an AI platform, it integrates cloud, big data, AI, and mobility capabilities to secure new markets in digital logistics.
