[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The "Green Smart City Global ODA Conference," hosted by Busan City and organized by the Busan International Exchange Foundation, will be held on September 1 at the Haeundae Paradise Hotel.
The "Green Smart City Global ODA Conference," being held for the first time this year, is organized to create changes in partner countries' cities based on the urban growth experience of the green smart city Busan.
At the conference, the future value and achievements of the "Busan-type Green Smart City ODA" will be shared. Measures for implementing city-level Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) until 2030, when the SDGs are to be achieved, will also be explored with countries from various continents.
The "Busan Green Smart City International Development Consulting" project, promoted as part of the Busan-type Green Smart City ODA initiative, involved three partner countries: ▲Africa-Tanzania ▲Latin America-Nicaragua ▲Asia-Indonesia.
Nine experts from the partner countries will visit Busan and present the project’s achievements and the green smart city visions established for each country directly at the conference.
More than 50 participants, including invited overseas experts, the Ambassador of Nicaragua to Korea, the Ambassador of Tanzania to Korea, and representatives from cooperating organizations such as the Busan Film Commission, Busan University of Foreign Studies, and the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), are expected to attend the event.
The conference will be held under the theme "Busan, Moving Forward with the World as a Green Smart City" and will consist of an opening ceremony, a keynote speech, and two sessions.
The keynote speech will feature Hwang Jong-seong, former Master Planner (MP) of the Busan Eco Delta Smart City and current President of the National Information Society Agency (NIA).
The first session will begin with a presentation of project achievements by the Busan International Exchange Foundation, the executing agency of the Busan-type Green Smart City ODA.
After the achievement presentation, representatives of experts from the partner countries will present the "Green Smart City Vision Plan" developed together with Busan’s experts.
In the second session, experts from the three countries and participating experts from Busan’s cooperating organizations will gather to discuss the "Global Society’s World Transition Vision" from the perspective of green smart cities.
Jung Jong-pil, Secretary General of the Busan International Exchange Foundation, said, "We hope the conference will be a good opportunity for Busan to be recognized for its urban vision and capabilities as a candidate city for the 2030 World Expo in Busan."
The conference, held simultaneously online and offline, will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Busan International Exchange Foundation. Replays will be available after the event, and online participation registration can be made on the Busan International Exchange Foundation website.
The Busan International Exchange Foundation is promoting the "Busan Green Smart City International Development Consulting" project as part of the Busan-type Green Smart City ODA.
The project, running from June to early September, is a package program consisting of online training, online expert consulting, invited training, and a performance dissemination conference, all centered on the theme of green smart cities.
Nine experts from three countries across three continents?▲Africa-Tanzania ▲Latin America-Nicaragua ▲Asia-Indonesia?participate, along with experts from Busan regional specialized institutions such as the Busan Film Commission, Korea Maritime Institute, and Busan University of Foreign Studies, who serve as Busan consultants.
