Daegihyeop Donates 20 Million Won for Gas Facility Improvements, Handonhyeophoe Donates 450kg of Pork
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] As the Chuseok holiday approaches, acts of sharing continue in Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol).
The Korea Mechanical Equipment Construction Association Gas Business Council (Chairman Kim Young-tae) announced that it will carry out a gas facility improvement project targeting vulnerable households in Gokseong-gun.
This project involves visiting low-income households vulnerable to gas safety issues to modernize aging gas facilities by installing new gas pipelines, replacing old gas stoves, installing gas timer cocks, and conducting safety inspections of the facilities in use.
The Korea Mechanical Equipment Construction Association Gas Business Council will cover not only the talent donation but also up to 20 million KRW in project costs.
To promote the project, Chairman Kim Young-tae and other council officials visited Gokseong-gun Office on August 25.
On that day, they held a meeting with Lee Sang-cheol, Governor of Gokseong-gun, to discuss ways to extend benefits to more socially vulnerable households.
Chairman Kim Young-tae stated, “We will continue to promote gas facility improvement projects for socially disadvantaged groups.”
Since 2015, the council has carried out gas facility improvement projects for about 3,000 households nationwide.
The Korea Pork Producers Association Gokseong Branch also donated 450kg of pork (2,250 servings) for underprivileged groups.
The donated pork was delivered to 370 low-income and marginalized households in Gokseong-gun as well as seven local children's centers.
Chairman Lee Hwa-seop said, “I am truly happy to be able to provide some support to families in need during the Chuseok holiday.
We will strive to contribute to the local community through more sharing.”
Governor Lee Sang-cheol expressed gratitude to the Korea Pork Producers Association Gokseong Branch chief and its members for their continued donations to Gokseong-gun every year.
