Talent Verification Platform Specter Secures 6.5 Billion KRW Series A Funding

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Talent verification platform 'Specter' announced on the 29th that it has secured 6.5 billion KRW in Series A funding.

Specter is a startup that resolves information asymmetry in the recruitment market and helps match companies and job seekers by providing talent verification services based on reputation.

This investment was co-led by Stick Ventures, a major domestic investment firm, and Storm Ventures, a global investment company based in Silicon Valley, USA. Existing investors Strong Ventures and Base Investment also participated in the follow-up investment.

Specter had previously secured 1.3 billion KRW through seed and pre-Series A investments and 500 million KRW through selection for TIPS. With the successful Series A funding, the total accumulated investment reached 8.3 billion KRW.

Through this investment, Specter plans to accelerate the advancement of its talent verification services and preparations for overseas expansion. In the second half of the year, it aims to launch 'MySpecter,' a career branding service exclusively for job seekers that allows them to manage and prove their academic background, work experience, awards, and more on their own.

Nam Tae-hee, CEO of Storm Ventures, and Kim Min-ju, an investment officer, commented, "Specter’s achievement of acquiring over 1,800 corporate clients across various industries and scales within just a year and a half since launch, based on a highly refined product, was impressive. We see greater growth potential ahead from the usage patterns where clients are expanding Specter’s application throughout the entire recruitment process."

Yoon Kyung-wook, CEO of Specter, stated, "We will enhance our services so that talent verification, including reputation checks, becomes a common recruitment procedure and culture to boost companies’ HR competitiveness. We also aim to grow into a platform where job seekers can actively engage in career branding."
