[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin, Legal Affairs Specialist] The Ministry of Justice has established a system that allows bar exam passers to directly check their ranking on the Ministry of Justice website, which went into effect on the 29th.
The Ministry of Justice announced that from this day forward, it will implement a bar exam ranking inquiry service using a computerized system.
Following the intent of related Supreme Court rulings, the Ministry of Justice has disclosed bar exam rankings to the examinees themselves since October 2020. However, unlike bar exam scores, rankings were disclosed only after separate information disclosure requests or procedures through the National Petition Portal, causing significant inconvenience to successful examinees as it took at least one week to ten days from application to disclosure.
From now on, examinees who pass the bar exam will be able to verify and print their rankings immediately by completing a simple identity verification process on the Ministry of Justice website.
The Ministry of Justice stated, "We will continue to actively address civil complaints and strive to provide advanced administrative services that citizens can experience."
