On the 26th at 3 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District Office, visited the Gangwon Province agricultural products direct transaction market held at Junggye Neighborhood Park.

The direct transaction market, running until 6 p.m. on the 27th, was organized to support farmers in Gangwon Province while providing residents with high-quality food products directly sold by producers, ensuring trustworthiness.

The market consists of 40 sales booths, with major items including Gangwon Hanwoo beef, mushrooms, deodeok (Codonopsis lanceolata), and fermented sauces. Various events are also ongoing, such as giving out shopping bags for purchases over 50,000 KRW.

During the event, a donation ceremony took place. Expressing gratitude for expanding sales channels for traditional markets and directly producing farms in Gangwon Province, participating merchants collected part of their sales revenue and donated 3.5 million KRW to the district.

Gangnam District (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is hosting the ‘2022 Gangnam Design Week’ from the 26th to September 4th, featuring 86 domestic and international interior design companies participating in the event held around Nonhyeon Furniture Street and other specialized streets in the district.

On the 26th at 2 p.m., the district held the opening ceremony at the Gangnam Design Week theme pavilion located on Hakdong-ro.

Since 2020, the district has held this event under the name ‘Gangnam Interior Design Week’ to revitalize the commercial area around Hakdong Station to Nonhyeon Station. This year, the name was changed to ‘Gangnam Design Week’ and the venue expanded to include Cheongdam-dong, Samseong-dong, and Sinsa-dong areas, attracting participation from 86 companies. The plan is to link themed streets such as luxury shopping streets to create a distinctive festival that attracts domestic and international tourists and revitalizes the local economy.

Mayor Jo Seong-myeong, who attended the opening ceremony, said, “I hope many domestic and international tourists visit the design week, now in its third year, so that residents and small business owners can gain vitality,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to design Gangnam District, the economic and cultural center of South Korea, into a more vibrant and lively city.”
