[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 24th that former Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Kim Dae-jung held the 'Yeongam Multicultural Parents Meeting with the Superintendent' at the Yeongam-gun Family Center.
At this meeting, Superintendent Kim Dae-jung engaged in in-depth discussions on multicultural student education and support with officials from the Yeongam Office of Education, Yeongam-gun, and 30 multicultural family parents from Yeongam.
The attending parents presented opinions such as ▲care and living support for children of multicultural single-parent families ▲multicultural understanding education at schools and formation of student friendships ▲improvement of English speaking skills.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to strengthen cooperation with related organizations to ensure customized integrated support by collecting opinions from multicultural family parents.
Superintendent Kim Dae-jung stated, “The approximately 50,000 multicultural families in the province are an important asset with strengths needed in the global era,” and added, “We will do our best to support the education and stable living of multicultural families, including activities as after-school program instructors and participation in bilingual education.”
