English-speaking Region No.1 'Sandman' Narrowly Outpaced
Six-Time Champion in Non-English Drama Category
The drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" was the most watched across all categories on Netflix. According to Netflix's official site "Netflix Top 10" on the 24th, the viewing hours for the third week of this month (15th?21st) reached 77.43 million hours. It showed an overwhelming difference compared to the second most watched non-English drama, the Mexican crime series "High Heat" (27.68 million hours). "Woo Young-woo" also narrowly surpassed "The Sandman Season 1" (77.24 million hours), the most watched English-language drama. It ranked first in total Netflix viewing hours for the first time.
Released on June 29, "Woo Young-woo" topped the non-English drama category six times. It did not enter the top 10 in its first week of airing. "Woo Young-woo", starring Park Eun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, and Kang Ki-young, is a drama about a lawyer with a genius intellect and autism spectrum disorder. It delivered warm emotions in each episode and concluded on the 18th. Meanwhile, in the third week of this month’s Netflix non-English drama viewing rankings, "Model Family", starring Jung Woo, ranked third (19.77 million hours), and "Alchemy of Souls", starring Lee Jae-wook and Jung So-min, ranked fifth (18.04 million hours).
