[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 22nd that it will operate the '2022 Gangsonong Cultivation Training' at the Innovative Agricultural Center from October 27 to November 15 to strengthen the competitiveness and increase the income of small but strong farmers in the region.

Applications are open to all local farmers, young farmers, and returnees to farming.

Applicants can download the application form from the Suncheon City Hall website (Notices and Announcements) by October 20 and submit it via email or to the Eup/Myeon/Dong Administrative Welfare Center.

The Gangsonong cultivation training consists of a total of 12 sessions and 56 hours, structured into step-by-step curricula including basic and coaching education, advanced and follow-up training, conducted at practical training centers, informatization training centers, and on farms.

Additionally, support such as private expert consulting and fostering autonomous groups is provided to help Gangsonong farmers establish a management foundation to respond quickly to the rapidly changing agricultural environment.

Furthermore, Suncheon City will participate for four days in the '2022 8th Gangsonong Expo' hosted by the Rural Development Administration, held at COEX in Seoul in November.

They plan to promote and sell agricultural products and processed goods directly produced, and share the latest information through meetings between local Gangsonong farmers and consumers to seek continuous growth.

A Suncheon City official said, "We will continue to promote education and consulting tailored to the increasingly difficult agricultural environment due to aging farm populations and rising labor costs, to strengthen farmers' management capabilities and support income increases."
