Three-Digit Scale Expected... Samsung Electronics Outlook for Early September
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] SK Hynix is set to recruit new college graduate employees in the second half of the year. The scale is expected to be in the triple digits, similar to previous years. This is interpreted as a commitment to securing talent amid the ongoing shortage of semiconductor specialists.
According to industry sources on the 19th, SK Hynix plans to announce the recruitment on the 22nd and proceed with hiring new college graduates. The recruitment positions include ▲Design ▲Device ▲R&D Process ▲Mass Production & Technology ▲R&D Equipment ▲Quality Assurance ▲Marketing, among others.
Applications will be accepted until the 30th, followed by written tests, interviews, and health checkups. Successful candidates are expected to join the company in January next year. An SK Hynix official stated, "We also held recruitment briefings at universities," adding, "The recruitment plan is expected to be disclosed around the 20th."
As of last year, SK Hynix had 30,135 employees, a 3.9% increase compared to the previous year. It surpassed 20,000 employees in 2012 and has now exceeded 30,000 employees in 10 years.
SK Hynix plans to expand its recruitment scale this year compared to previous years, considering the improvement in the semiconductor market and facility investments.
Domestic semiconductor companies are making large-scale investments and actively securing talent, but there is still a shortage of specialized personnel. The industry commonly agrees that there are few opportunities to specialize exclusively in semiconductors, which results in additional time and costs for training even after hiring.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is reported to begin its second half new college graduate recruitment next month. Following the special pardon on August 15th Liberation Day that reinstated Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, who has repeatedly expressed his commitment to creating youth jobs, this year’s recruitment scale is expected to exceed that of previous years.
