KLPGT, Priority Negotiation Partner for Broadcasting Rights is SBS Medianet

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Tour (KLPGT) selected SBS Medianet as the preferred negotiation partner for broadcasting rights on the 19th.

The selection of the broadcaster for the next five years of broadcasting rights was conducted through a restricted competitive bidding process. On the 17th, three companies?SBS Medianet, Aclla Media Group, and JTBC Discovery (JTBC Golf)?participated in the second presentation evaluation held at the KLPGT Secretariat.

The preferred negotiation partner was evaluated based on various criteria including financial aspects, performance, and contributions to the development of KLPGT, in line with KLPGT’s business objectives. In the second evaluation, a panel consisting of four external and eight internal judges calculated the overall score by averaging the individual scores after excluding the highest and lowest scores.

As a result, SBS Medianet received the highest overall score of 93 points and was selected as the preferred negotiation partner. The runner-up, JTBC Discovery, scored 83.6 points.

Once KLPGT and SBS Medianet finalize negotiations and sign the broadcasting rights contract, SBS Medianet will be granted the rights to broadcast and resell all tournaments and events hosted and organized by KLPGA and KLPGT as the broadcasting rights holder for the KLPGA Tour from 2023 to 2027.
