Homeplus reported a 60% increase in zero-calorie carbonated beverage sales during the same period.
In the case of e-commerce, sales of diet supplements and slimming packs increased. According to 11st, from August 1 to 14, sales of diet supplements grew by 35% compared to the same period last year. Yoga wear, which allows for solo training at home, increased by 40%, and body fat scales rose by 14%.
Market Kurly's sales of protein drinks from January to August 15 this year increased by 92% compared to the same period last year. In addition, sales of protein snacks such as cookies and bars grew by 40% compared to the same period last year, showing high popularity. Olive Young saw supplements that help reduce body fat gain popularity. From August 1 to 14, Olive Young's slimming product sales increased by 39%, and sales grew by 45% throughout July.
A distribution industry official analyzed, "From June to July, ahead of the peak season, the number of consumers paying attention to weight and body shape management increased," adding, "Efforts to maintain this seem to continue through July and August."
