By 9 PM, 133,777 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Nationwide

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Junyi] Amid the continued resurgence of COVID-19, as of 9 PM on the 18th, over 130,000 new confirmed cases were reported nationwide.

According to Seoul Metropolitan Government and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on this day, 133,777 people across 17 cities and provinces nationwide were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

This is a decrease of 36,293 cases compared to the same time the previous day (170,070 cases).

The number of confirmed cases as of 9 PM on this day increased by 8,920 cases, recording 1.07 times compared to one week earlier on the 11th (124,857 cases) at the same time.

Compared to two weeks ago on the 4th (108,390 cases), it increased by 25,387 cases, showing 1.23 times.

Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced on the 19th is expected to increase further, reaching the mid-130,000s.

As of 9 PM on this day, new confirmed cases were 60,254 (45.0%) in the metropolitan area and 73,523 (55.0%) in non-metropolitan areas.
