This is a project led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to stabilize youth housing and improve housing standards, providing temporary support of 200,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months.
The support is provided to homeless youth aged 19 to 34 who live separately from their parents in Seo-gu, residing in rental properties with a deposit of 50 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less, and they must be registered as residents at the rental property location.
The payment criteria are a youth household median income of 60% or less and assets of 107 million KRW or less; the original household income must be 100% or less of the median income, and assets must be 380 million KRW or less.
Applications can be made for one year from the 22nd until August 21 of next year, and monthly rent support will begin in November this year after screening.
Applications can be submitted online through the Bokjiro website or by visiting the administrative welfare center with jurisdiction over the applicant’s address.
For more details, inquiries can be made to each neighborhood administrative welfare center or the Youth Vitality Team of the Job and Youth Support Division at Seo-gu Office.
A Seo-gu official said, “We hope this can be of some help to young people who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We will continue to strive for the future of youth.”
