Korea Racing Authority Busan Gyeongnam Headquarters, Horse Racing Broadcast Soundtrack Contest

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters is holding a contest for horse racing broadcast audio tracks.

The Korea Racing Authority has previously held various media contests such as horse photo contests, 30-second film festivals, and Busan-Gyeongnam online travel video contests.

This year, to provide more opportunities for diverse media creators to participate and to increase the practical use of the winning works, an audio track contest is being held.

There are three themes to choose from: ▲Theme song for the horse racing broadcast character ‘Kkaeal-i’ (within 1 minute, lyrics required), ▲Cheer song for small business owners (within 1 minute, lyrics required), ▲Background music to be used during horse racing business trips (within 3 minutes, no lyrics). Detailed information about the themes can be found in the announcements on the Korea Racing Authority website.

Anyone in the public can apply. Each person can submit only one entry per theme. However, members of the Korea Music Copyright Association cannot participate according to Article 3 (Entrustment of Copyrights) of the ‘Copyright Trust Contract Terms.’

Submission period is from the 22nd of this month until September 30. The submitted audio file must be in MP3 format with a quality of 320kbps. Applicants must download the application form, consent form for collection and use of personal information, and the entry pledge from the Korea Racing Authority website, fill them out, and submit them along with the audio file via email or Google Form.

A total of seven entries will be selected and awarded a total prize of 10 million KRW. The grand prize winner will receive 5 million KRW, the excellence award winner 2 million KRW, the merit award winner 1 million KRW, and four encouragement awards of 500,000 KRW each. Except for the encouragement awards, prizes will be awarded regardless of theme category.

The results will be announced on October 20 on the Korea Racing Authority website, and winners will be contacted individually. The winning audio tracks will be used in Korea Racing Authority horse racing broadcasts and related media for 120 months.
