People Power Party Emphasizes 'People' on Yoon Administration's 100 Days: "We Will Examine Closely"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] The People Power Party has emphasized the "people" as the Yoon Seok-yeol administration marks its 100th day since inauguration.

On the 17th, Yang Geum-hee, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary, "The first 100 days of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, the start, direction, and goal are solely for the people."

Yang said, "The president promised to focus on protecting the common people and socially vulnerable who suffer more during economic hardships, and to take care of them more meticulously so that the people can feel it," adding, "The new government will pursue normalization of state affairs based strictly on the 'people' and 'national interest,' not on 'ideology' or political gains and losses."

Yang continued, "President Yoon said, 'I will humbly accept public opinion and listen to the will of the people so as not to go against it,'" and added, "As he emphasized that the start, direction, and goal are the people, he will humbly engrave both the support and criticism of the people in his heart."

Yang also said, "The People Power Party will implement state tasks for the people together with the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," and promised, "We will not be complacent with support and backing, but remain humble in the face of reasonable criticism, not losing our original intention, and move closer to the people."

Kim Hyung-dong, the party’s chief spokesperson, also released a commentary, saying, "Today’s press conference emphasized above all the importance of communication with the people," and explained, "President Yoon said, 'Communication with the media is communication with the people.' The efforts through doorstepping over the 100 days showed the president’s will for 'communication with the people.'"

Kim added, "The People Power Party and the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will always place the 'people' at the center of state affairs and carefully consider the will of the people," and said, "Using the opinions of the people as nourishment, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will grow into a better form and always accompany the people on the great journey toward the future of the Republic of Korea."
