Stella Artois Opens 'Fritz Artois' Restaurant in Itaewon

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Belgian premium beer brand Stella Artois announced on the 17th that it will open a restaurant called ‘Frites Artois’ in Itaewon, Seoul.

Frites Artois is a restaurant that offers visitors a special gourmet experience combining Stella Artois draft beer and Belgium’s representative food, ‘frites’. Stella Artois is reopening the pop-up restaurant Frites Artois, which was very popular among consumers last year, as a permanent restaurant this year. Frites Artois became a hot place in Hannam-dong, recording an average of about 300 visitors per day and sales of more than 10,000 glasses of Stella Artois draft beer within one month of opening last year.

Frites Artois features a European-style atmosphere with white as the main color both inside and outside the building. Inside the restaurant, a large illustration designed by famous illustrator Seul-ah Lee, themed on the meeting of Stella Artois and Seoul city lifestyle, is exhibited to add a sophisticated charm. A premium bar table called ‘Bar Artois’, which provides consumers with the finest Stella draft beer, is also prepared. There is also an outdoor terrace that creates an exotic ambiance.

Food columnist and chef Junwoo Park participated from the menu planning stage of Frites Artois, strengthening the dining menu compared to before, which also draws attention. The restaurant’s main menu, frites, is Belgian-style fries with a crispy and thick texture, enjoyed with eight different sauces. In addition, there are three special frites menus: ‘Artois Mussel Stew’ cooked with Stella Artois beer, ‘Boulette Frites’, a traditional Belgian dish with meatballs, and ‘Seoul Frites’, flavored with gimbugak (seaweed crisps) and myeongran sauce, as well as steak and more.

Various brand goods are also sold. Visitors can find limited edition exclusive glasses ‘Seoul Edition’ chalices specially designed with Seoul as the background, aprons, silicone table mats, and Campo cutting boards at Frites Artois.

The Stella Artois brand manager said, "Thanks to consumer support, we have reopened a unique dining space where you can experience Belgium’s representative beer and food in Itaewon, the mecca of trends," adding, "We will offer consumers a special gourmet experience to enjoy with their loved ones."
