Jeju Coast Diving Accident Suspected Neck Fracture, 30s Urgently Transported

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] An emergency patient in his 30s suspected of having a cervical fracture occurred while diving near the coast of Dangsanbong, Hankyeong-myeon, Jeju City, and was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 16th, a report was received that Mr. A (male in his 30s / resident) was injured after diving incorrectly near the coast of Dangsanbong, Hankyeong-myeon, Jeju City at 6:23 p.m. the previous day and requested transportation.

The Jeju Coast Guard, who responded to the report, arrived at the scene at 7:28 p.m. and found Mr. A suspected of having a cervical fracture.

At around 8:36 p.m., using a rescue team's rubber boat, a total of six people including the emergency patient and a guardian were boarded and arrived at Jagunae Port at 8:45 p.m., where they were handed over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.

A Jeju Coast Guard official said, "Diving from a high place is very dangerous, so please always check the surrounding water depth and any hazards, and be careful to play safely."
