Sejong-si Provides '1-Year Monthly Rent Support' for Local Homeless Youth

[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City will support local homeless youth with up to 200,000 KRW per month in rent for one year.

The city announced on the 16th that it will promote the "Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support" project with this content.

The project supports monthly rent for homeless youth aged 19 to 34 who have become independent from their parents and live in housing with a deposit of 50 million KRW and monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less.

Applications will be accepted starting from the 22nd of this month. Eligibility requirements are that the applicant (youth household) has a standard median income of 60% or less (1-person household 기준 1,160,000 KRW), property value of 107 million KRW or less, and the original household including parents has an income of 100% or less of the standard median income (3-person household 기준 4,190,000 KRW) and property value not exceeding 380 million KRW.

However, if the youth is 30 years or older, married (divorced), a single parent, or under 30 but the unmarried youth household income is 50% or more of the median income, the original household income and property are not considered.

Conversely, those who are recipients of the city's "Housing Rent (Monthly Rent) Support" project or residents of public rental housing under the "Public Housing Special Act" are excluded from support.

The support funds will be paid starting in November after verification of individual income and property.

Applications can be made through the online Bokjiro website or by visiting the Youth Policy Office on the 4th floor of City Hall.

Whether you qualify as a support recipient can be checked in advance using the simulation calculation service on Bokjiro or the My Home Portal before applying.
