[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The second Kyobo Humanities Lecture of the year will be held on the 23rd under the theme "The Hardship We All Face, the Food Crisis." The lecture will be delivered by Nam Jae-jak, Director of the Korea Precision Agriculture Research Institute.
Director Nam Jae-jak is the head of the Korea Precision Agriculture Research Institute, an agricultural scientist, a member of the Carbon Neutrality Committee of the Special Committee on Agriculture, and a member of the Agriculture, Forestry and Food Science and Technology Committee. As a KOICA agricultural ODA expert, he planned rural development projects aimed at food security and climate change response in developing countries. He has also participated as a member of the Korean government delegation at the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report approval meeting and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meetings.
The lecture consists of three sessions: "▲Session 1: Warning about Hunger ▲Session 2: Climate Backlash, Biodiversity and Agriculture ▲Session 3: The Journey to Overcome the Food Crisis Era."
Participation is possible via online live streaming through prior registration. Pre-registration is available through the Daesan Cultural Foundation and the Kyobo Book Centre website. The lecture videos will be released later on the Daesan Cultural Foundation's YouTube channel.
